GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip - Israeli aircraft and artillery struck targets inside densely crowded Gaza City on Thursday, and witnesses said one of the buildings damaged was the local headquarters of the U.N. refugee agency.
The U.N. building was hit by what was believed to be three white phosphorous shells, which burn at high temperatures and can set things on fire, U.N. spokesman Chris Gunness said.
