Obama to Tap Network for Initiatives

The millions-strong grassroots volunteer army that helped Barack Obama as a candidate began receiving details Saturday morning on how it might help him as president.

The president-elect said the Democratic National Committee, under Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine, will coordinate the activities of the organization, which includes more than 13 million email addresses collected mostly during the campaign.

"You've built the largest grass-roots movement in history and shaped the future of this country," President-elect Obama said Saturday morning in a video message. "And the movement you've built is too important to stop growing now."
