A horrific scene unfolds during a church service this morning in Southern Illinois.
Authorities say a gunman walked down the aisle and shot the pastor to death before stabbing himself and two others.
Pastor Fred Winters of the First Baptist Church of Maryville, which is a suburb of St. Louis, died after being shot once during the 8:00 a.m. service.
Church member Claudia Bohley, who was in attendance gave her account, "I ran in to see if I could help and I'd seen all this paper stuff up on the pulpit. And later, I found out they said the bullet hit the pastor's bible and it just, it was like confetti, just went everywhere. People were, they were down on their knees and on the floor, they were screaming and praying. Just a terrible thing, just terrible."
