Hewlett-Packard ‘Studying’ Google Android Software for Netbooks

March 31 (Bloomberg) -- Hewlett-Packard Co., the world’slargest maker of personal computers, is “studying” GoogleInc.’s Android operating system software for use on scaled-downnotebook PCs known as netbooks.

“We are interested in understanding all the variousoperating system choices in the marketplace that could be usedby our competitors,” said Marlene Somsak, a spokeswoman for thePalo Alto, California-based company. “With respect to GoogleAndroid, we’re studying the OS in general and looking at itscomputing and communications capabilities.
