BLACKSBURG, Va. — Thousands signed up for a run Thursday to launch memorial events at Virginia Tech dedicated to 32 people killed by a student gunman two years ago.
At the core of the group of at least 3,300 entered in the 3.2-mile race were students injured in the mass shootings and their families.
One was Lolly Miller, whose daughter Heidi Miller was injured in the classroom building where Seung-Hui Cho killed 30 of his victims and himself on April 16, 2007.
