BEIJING (Dow Jones)--Manufacturing activity in China continued to pick up in April, the latest official purchasing managers' index showed Friday, adding to recent signs of improvement in the economy amid an aggressive government stimulus program.
China's PMI, issued by the China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing with the support of the National Bureau of Statistics, rose to 53.5 in April from 52.4 in March.
