DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Department of Public Health hasbegun using Twitter to update residents on the swine flu situationin the state.

The department issued a news release Friday saying that aTwitter page had been created to give Iowans an opportunity to stayup-to-date on the status of the illness in the state.

As of Friday, there were three probable cases of swine flu inIowa and state health officials say they were waiting forconfirmation from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
