Virgin Mobile USA Inc. said first-quarter earnings more than doubled as it benefited from lower costs amid a net decline in subscribers during the quarter.
The pay-as-you-go wireless communications company lost 133,292 net customers during the quarter to end the period with a total of 5.2 million, which was still up 2.8% from a year earlier.
