May 27 (Bloomberg) -- Polo Ralph Lauren Corp., the designerof Chaps and Club Monaco clothing, posted a fourth-quarterprofit that declined less than analysts estimated on sales indepartment stores.
Net income dropped 57 percent to $44.5 million, or 44 centsa share, in the three months through March 28, from $103.5million, or $1, a year earlier, New York-based Polo said todayin a statement distributed by Business Wire. Before one-timeitems, profit was 86 cents a share. Analysts projected earningsof 40 cents, the average of estimates in a Bloomberg survey.
