New Palm Pre arrives - MiamiHerald.com

Select South Florida Sprint customers get to be among the first to get their hands on the new Palm Pre smartphone -- a phone that has garnered high praise by critics and has a lot riding on its success.

Sprint sent invitations to ''premier customers'' within a 50-mile radius of its Pembroke Pines store for a launch party Friday night. They'll be able to enjoy wine, hors d'oeuvres and mingle with former University of Miami quarterback Vinny Testaverde and former Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Dwight Stephenson -- and purchase the phone. The launch party begins at 6 p.m. at 12206 Pines Blvd.,
