ELMONT, N.Y. - The air of this Triple Crown left the building three weeks ago when Mine That Bird didn't win the Preakness. For the 31st consecutive year, thoroughbred racing would have to trudge through the spring without a real good horse story.
Thank goodness, we still have Calvin Borel, which isn't a bad consolation prize.
Borel, who seems impossible not to like, is on the verge of making his own legend when he attempts to become the first jockey in history to win a Triple Crown on different horses.
