Sweden's Government Wins Slim Victory in EU Parliament Vote

June 8 (Bloomberg) -- Sweden’s ruling coalition led byPrime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt won a slim victory over theopposition in European Parliament elections in a welcome triumphthree weeks before it takes over the European Union’s rotatingpresidency.

Reinfeldt’s conservative Moderate Party won 18.7 percent ofthe vote, according to results published by the Stockholm-basedElection Authority late yesterday with 5,629 out of 5,664districts counted, compared with 24.7 percent for the mainopposition party, the Social Democrats.
