Two state troopers shot, seriously injured

A police chase in the Poconos last night ended with two state police troopers being shot and seriously injured, with a third person killed.

State police did not release any information, but according to news reports the incident began with a possible custody dispute in Nazareth, Northampton County. A man armed with a handgun took a child from his home and drove away.

A police chase ensued, and the man headed north into Monroe County. The chase ended when the suspect's car crashed at the intersection of Route 611 and Route 423, in Tobyhanna.
