Ex-PRIME Minister Margaret Thatcher was in hospital last night after breaking her arm in a fall.
Frail Lady Thatcher, 83, tripped over a carpet at her London home.
The former Tory leader, was taken to the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
She was "recovering well" and had been expected to be released after treatment, but doctors kept her in for observation "just to be sure".
Her spokesman said: "It's a simple fracture but bearing in mind who she is, she's 83 and the shock to the system, it's just belt and braces. There is nothing untoward."
