The chief of HBO Sports on Tuesday apologized for a series of profanities uttered by comic Artie Lange during the launch of new sports talk show anchored by Joe Buck Monday night. Meanwhile, Lange insisted during another outburst on Howard Stern's Sirius-XM radio show Tuesday that HBO had urged him to go "nuts."
Lange - also a regular on the "Late Show with David Letterman" and other late night talk shows - couldn't be reached Tuesday, but in an interview, HBO Sports president Ross Greenburg said, "I would say I'm sorry to anyone across America who had kids and were watching what they thought was a good and honest sports show that turned into gutter language."
