Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin issued a statement Tuesday that officially accepted David Letterman's Monday-night apology for remarks he made about her daughter last week. She accepted the apology on "behalf of all young women, like my daughters, who hope men who 'joke' about public displays of sexual exploitation of girls will soon evolve."
The CBS "Late Show" host had a controversial week after delivering an indefensible joke about one of Palin's daughters being "knocked up" by the New York Yankees' Alex Rodriguez during a June 8 taping and subsequent broadcast of his show.
