A MAN appeared in court yesterday accused of murdering his terminally-ill dad in hospital.
Postal worker Ralph Stephenson, 45, was remanded in custody.
The father of two was arrested after a post-mortem showed his dad, also Ralph, 86, was strangled.
He had been ill with Parkinson’s disease and pneumonia at the University Hospital of North Durham. Staff alerted cops after his death.
Peterlee Magistrates’ Court denied his only son bail yesterday. He is due at Newcastle Crown Court next Wednesday.
