As crowds gathered in Los Angeles on Tuesday morning for Michael Jackson's memorial, sections of freeways were shut down as the funeral procession made its way to the Staples Center. More than 1.6 million people registered online to win tickets to the service. Several European broadcasters cleared their schedules to show the event in prime time.
