Talks aimed at ending the political crisis in Honduras have failed to produce a resolution, officials say.

Roberto Micheletti, the military-backed interim president of Honduras, left Costa Rica, where talks were being held with Oscar Arias, the Costa Rican president, mid-way through the discussions on Thursday.

Manuel Zelaya, the deposed elected president of Honduras, held a separate meeting with Arias, a Nobel peace prize laureate, on Friday.
