NEW YORK — An autopsy is being performed on the female body found stuffed inside an air-conditioning duct in a Manhattan high-rise where a missing cleaning woman was last seen five days ago.
Medical examiner spokeswoman Ellen Borakove said the autopsy on Sunday is expected to reveal the woman's identity and the cause of death.
Although the remains have not officially been identified, police spokesman Paul Browne has said investigators presumed the body was that of 46-year-old Eridania Rodriguez. Rodriguez went missing Tuesday night.
