An investigation was under way today after a man was seriously injured when a crane collapsed in a ship dockyard.
The man's legs were feared to have been crushed when the crane fell on to a container ship being loaded at Southampton port in Hampshire early this morning.
He was flown to hospital by Coastguard helicopter while firefighters and police were at the scene.
Police are treating the incident as an industrial accident and Health and Safety Executive officials were due on site later.
