Miss Barnes, 19, managed to drag herself to a telephone moments after Ricardo Morrison, 21, had allegedly attacked her with a kitchen knife and left her for dead.

Stuart Driver, QC, prosecuting, told a jury at Manchester Crown Court that Miss Barnes had been staying with Mr Morrison at her grandmother's home when the attack happened.
