Bernard Madoff arrived at a North Carolina federal prison Tuesday to begin serving his 150-year prison term for running a massive Ponzi scheme that victimized investors around the world, prison officials said.
The 71-year-old disgraced financier arrived at the medium-security Federal Correctional Institution Butner after an overnight stay at an Atlanta prison, said Linda Thomas, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Bureau of Prisons.
