LOS ANGELES — Authorities say a 4-year-old boy in Los Angeles has been stabbed to death by his mother, who then slit her own wrists and died.
Police spokeswoman Sara Faden says the boy and his 43-year-old mother were discovered Saturday morning at a home in the Garvanza neighborhood northeast of downtown Los Angeles.
Police said the boy had been stabbed multiple times with a kitchen knife and the mother's wrists sustained cuts that were apparently self-inflicted.
