The mystery of how a young woman managed to disappear for five days deepened today after she walked into a hospital in a 'confused state'.
A massive search operation - involving up to 50 officers, a police helicopter and several dogs - was mounted after Tracy Gough dialled 999 on Saturday night, reporting that she had bumped her head after falling into a hole in the Shropshire countryside.
Police checked the triangulation of the call, whichsuggests she was telling the truth. Music was detectable in the background,possibly from an outdoors source, while Miss Gough thought she heard acar drive past.
