Kansas was one of five states whose real median household income showed statistically significant increases in 2008 from 2007, the U.S. Census Bureau said Tuesday.
Kansas had estimated real median household income of $50,177 in 2008, up 1.7 percent from an estimated $49,347 in 2007, the bureau said in its 2008 American Community Surveys. The other states with statistically significant increases for the period are Louisiana, Texas, New York and New Jersey. The figures are adjusted for inflation to 2008 dollars.
