COLUMBIA, S.C. -- A South Carolina legislator says he expects to introduce a resolution to impeach Republican Gov. Mark Sanford for skipping the state for five days in June to rendezvous with his lover.
Republican Rep. Greg Delleney of Chester has drafted the resolution and expects to introduce it Tuesday afternoon as the Legislature meets to deal with unemployment benefit issues.
House Speaker Bobby Harrell says he's getting a legal briefing on Delleney's resolution and hasn't decided if he'll allow it to be introduced.
