Nov. 3 (Bloomberg) -- Warren Buffett put together thebiggest deal in his 44-year career at Berkshire Hathaway Inc. in10 days.
Buffett, Berkshire’s chairman, was in Fort Worth, Texas, onOct. 22 for a company board meeting. The next day, he invitedMatthew Rose, chief executive officer of Burlington NorthernSanta Fe Corp., to meet him at the Ashton Hotel, a 1915 citylandmark.
“It was a relatively short conversation,” Rose toldBloomberg Television today. “He told me what he wanted to doand the next day we fired up the process.”
