A group of seven small-business owners from Colorado went to Washington, D.C., Tuesday to voice support for congressional health-care reform efforts -- including a proposal for a government-run program that would compete with private insurers.
The group was scheduled to meet with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and Small Business Administration chief Karen Mills.
The business owners were part of a pro-reform coalition assembled by advocacy groups and labor unions, including Main Street Alliance, CoPIRG, Small Business Majority, Health Care for America Now, ProgressNow Colorado, Change that Works, Service Employers International Union, AFL-CIO, Colorado Progressive Action and others.
