Ford, Nissan October Sales Rise After Clunkers Effect

Nov. 3 (Bloomberg) -- Ford Motor Co., Toyota Motor Corp.and Nissan Motor Co.’s U.S. auto sales rose in October as theindustry rebounded from the drop in demand that followed thegovernment’s so-called cash for clunkers program.

Ford including the Volvo brand increased 3.1 percent from ayear earlier, for its third gain in the past four months,according to a statement from the company. Nissan reported a5.6 percent increase, and Toyota posted a gain of less than1 percent. Chrysler Group LLC said its sales fell 30 percent.
