LOS ANGELES - Rihanna has been no stranger to the spotlight — even before her February assault at the hands of then-boyfriend Chris Brown.

But the singer said the level of media attention she received in the wake of the attack was something she never saw coming.

“It has taught me so much. I felt like I went to sleep as Rihanna and woke up as Britney Spears,” she said in a candid interview in the December issue of Glamour magazine. “That was the level of media chaos that happened the next day. It was like, what, there are helicopters circling my house? There are 100 people in my cul-de-sac? What do you mean, I can’t go back home?”
