Nov. 4 (Bloomberg) -- The Israeli navy intercepted a shipheading for Syria and seized an unprecedented 500-ton haul ofweapons from Iran intended for the Shiite Muslim Hezbollahmilitia in Lebanon, the army said.
“This is the largest cache of smuggled weapons ever to beseized by Israel,” army spokeswoman Avital Leibovitz said in aphone interview today. “The cache includes thousands of rocketsas well as hand grenades and mortar shells.”
