bofa's Moynihan Said to Agree to Testify About Merrill Takeover

Nov. 5 (Bloomberg) -- Bank of America Corp.’s BrianMoynihan, listed among contenders to succeed Chief ExecutiveOfficer Kenneth D. Lewis, agreed to testify about his role inthe Merrill Lynch & Co. takeover before a congressional panelprobing the deal, people familiar with the matter said.

Moynihan, 50, who heads consumer banking, will appearbefore the House Oversight Committee on Nov. 17, according totwo people who spoke anonymously because the schedule isn’tpublic yet. Timothy Mayopoulos, whom Moynihan replaced asgeneral counsel in December as the Merrill deal almostunraveled, will also testify, the people said.
