German Finance Min: To Talk With Geithner About Opel At G20

BERLIN -(Dow Jones)- German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble said Thursdayhe would address the issue of Opel when meeting with U.S. Treasury SecretaryTimothy Geithner on the sidelines of a meeting of Group of 20 officials in StAndrews, Scotland.

His comments come after General Motors Co.'s board late Tuesday decided toretain the firm's core European operations, embarrassing German federal andstate governments, which had in recent months lobbied hard for the sale of Opelto Canadian car-parts maker Magna International Inc. (MGA) and two Russianpartners, OAO Sberbank and OAO Gaz.
