NAIROBI, Kenya — Kenya's day of reckoning may have finally come.
After months of stonewalling by Kenyan politicians, the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court announced Thursday that crimes against humanity were committed during Kenya's post-election violence last year and that the International Criminal Court intended to get involved.
Luis Moreno-Ocampo, the chief prosecutor, flew into Kenya on Thursday and met with President Mwai Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga, whose intense rivalry set the stage for a wave of neighbor-on-neighbor killings that left more than 1,000 people dead.
