The first-time home buyers' tax credit has made its power felt for months now in the Southwest Florida housing market, with sales soaring by double-digit percentages for the last three months.
Now -- with broadly supported congressional action on Thursday -- an even larger base of potential buyers will be able to tap the credit, perhaps prolonging a rally in the housing market that for some has harkened back to the boom.
