World number three Novak Djokovic saved three match points before beating Radek Stepanek to reach the final of the Swiss Indoors in Basle.

The Serbian was made to battle all the way before triumphing 6-7 (4-7) 7-5 6-2 to set up a final meeting with top seed and world number one Roger Federer.

Federer defeated unseeded compatriot and childhood friend Marco Chiudinelli 7-6 (9-7) 6-3.
