"Project Runway" has struggled to make it work in its sixth season, which concludes in a two-part finale starting Thursday.

The once-fascinating show's intrigue has slipped as badly as a model in 5-inch heels drunk on champagne. Is the very mantra of "Runway" becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy? One day you're in . . . and the next day, you're out?

The lack of drama or a breakout star talent like Season 4's Christian Siriano has -- for the first time since it started five years ago -- put the show in jeopardy of becoming a has-been.
