FT. HOOD, Texas -- Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, the Army psychiatrist accused of going on a murderous shooting rampage that left 13 dead and 30 injured, confessed to his mosque elder months ago that he was conflicted between his devotion to Islam and his allegiance to the U.S. military.
"If soldiers come to me and have problems fighting other Muslims, what do I tell them?" Osman Danquah, co-founder of the Islamic Community of Greater Killeen, Texas, said Hasan asked him in August.
