Veterans Day events planned across Southern California

Most government offices are closed today, but transit services will follow their usual schedules as Southern California marks Veterans Day. Here is a rundown of some events from City News Service:

--The sixth annual San Fernando Valley Veterans Day Parade will includethe participation of more than 60 veterans groups, the San Diego-based NavyBand Southwest, the 1st Marine Division Band from Camp Pendleton, the AirNational Guard Band of the Southwest and at least five high school marchingbands, according to organizers. The parade is set to begin shortly after 11 a.m. at Laurel Canyon and SanFernando Mission boulevards in Mission Hills.
