St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - The New Orleans Saints were without a key defensive player for Sunday's game against St. Louis, as All-Pro safety Darren Sharper was listed as inactive.

Sharper, the NFL's active leader in interceptions with 61, missed his first game since 2005 with a knee injury. The 34-year-old didn't practice Wednesday and took limited reps the next two sessions.

In eight games this season, Sharper has recorded 35 tackles, seven interceptions and a half-sack.
