An 85-year-old woman has been discovered dead in the River Severn in Powys, says Dyfed-Powys Police.

The pensioner's body was found in Newtown on Monday afternoon after she was reported missing by a neighbour on Saturday.

It follows the discovery of a 21-year-old woman's body near Brecon after a major search along the River Usk.

Police said it was not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident in Newtown.
