Nearly 20 years after shining in Pretty Woman, Julia Roberts is preparing to return to her box-office perch with Eat, Pray, Love.

In the big-screen adaptation of Elizabeth Gilbert's 2006 bestseller – a globetrotting memoir following a divorcée traveling to Italy, India and Bali in search of fulfillment – Roberts divorces Billy Crudup, rebounds with James Franco and finds an exotic lover in Javier Bardem.

Sandra Bullock has had a banner year -- her first Oscar (for The Blind Side), her first Razzie (All About Steve) and megasuccess at the box office with The Proposal.

But things may not be so hot on the home front. In Touch Weekly reports husband Jesse James has been cheating on her with a tattoo model, Michelle McGee. They apparently hooked up in Austin, Texas, while Bullock was away in Atlanta shooting the football movie.

Johnny Depp and Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" still reigns at the box office, pulling in $62.7 million in its second weekend and becoming the first film released in 2010 to top the $200 million mark.

Newcomers opened weakly, led by Matt Damon's Iraq War thriller "Green Zone," which opened at No. 2 with $14.3 million.

The puppet Damon ends up dead, his head snapped by a Team America hero.

LOS ANGELES -- Executives throughout Hollywood are undoubtedly breathing a sigh of relief that they have no more dramas dealing with the Iraq war in the works, as "Green Zone" this weekend became the latest film on the topic to flop at the box office.

It was blown away by "Alice in Wonderland," which dropped a relatively modest 47 percent in the U.S. and Canada from its huge opening last week. Even more impressive was the performance of director Tim Burton's 3-D movie overseas, where it is now significantly outpacing its domestic receipts.

If anybody believes Gordon Gekko that 'greed is good' it has to be James Cameron. As if $2.6 billion worldwide wasn't enough for the creator of Avatar, in an interview with USA Today, the box office master is looking to milk his biggest cows for everything they've got.

'The wildcard is that we might be re-releasing [Avatar] this fall. It's kind of gotten stomped out (in theaters) because of Alice in Wonderland. The word we're getting back from exhibitors is we probably left a couple of hundred million dollars on the table as a result.'

"Avatar" was not a big winner at the Oscars -- it was a big winner for the Oscars.

Though James Cameron's box-office behemoth got clobbered by "The Hurt Locker" at the Academy Awards Sunday night, the show registered an average audience of 41.3 million viewers -- its biggest audience in five years.

This year's co-hosts, Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin, may get some of the credit but, in truth, they're just the latest to discover how great it is to get to host the trophy show when a Cameron flick is in the running -- even when it gets snubbed.

There are more movies nominated for Best Picture this year, 10, than we have had in a long time, and one of them, "Avatar," is already the biggest box-office movie of all time.

Everybody has seen "Avatar." But whatever happens at the Oscars Sunday, everybody should want to go see "The Hurt Locker," the greatest war movie since "Paths of Glory" (1957) and maybe the best ever made.

"Avatar" has made more than $2 billion around the world and $700 million in this country alone. Going into this weekend, "The Hurt Locker" was at $19 million and change in the U.S.

James Cameron's "Avatar" used breakthroughs in 3-D technology to pass "Titanic" as the No. 1 box-­office hit ever, but that's just the tip of the iceberg for the format - on the big screen and beyond.

For "Alice in Wonderland," which opened Friday, director Tim Burton used 3-D to give audiences a glimpse through the looking glass at the vision that was playing in his head. Ticketmaster confirmed to TMZ they are in fact selling tickets to a Conan O'Brien stage show that goes down April 30. It's unclear what Conan will be doing exactly ... but tickets go on sale Monday March 8 at 10:00 MST.

Calls to the Dodge Theatre have not yet been returned and Conan's reps could not be reached for comment.

(CNN) -- Twenty years ago, NBC turned the box office hit "Parenthood" into a half-hour sitcom. It was critically acclaimed but struggled to find an audience and was cancelled after just 12 episodes.

The network has now retooled "Parenthood" into a one-hour drama that it calls "re-imagined and updated." It premieres Tuesday night.

The focus is still on the lives of an extended family, and the taglines say it all: "Parenthood is the one bond you can never break." "It's being the bad guy one minute and the hero the next." "Parenthood is saying exactly the right thing at exactly the wrong time."

After almost three months in release, "Avatar" will cede 3-D screenings at the end of this week when Disney's long-awaited Tim Burton-directed sequel "Alice in Wonderland" hits theaters. It's a predictably light week at the movies beyond that because really, who wants to compete with the combined drawing power of Burton, Disney, "Alice" and Johnny Depp?

In this new "Alice," the title character returns to the magical world of Wonderland 10 years after her initial visit. Much has changed there, and not for the better.

DiCaprio and Scorsese first worked together on Gangs of New York

Martin Scorsese's new thriller Shutter Island has remained top of the US box office for a second week, taking more than $22m (£14.5m) over the weekend.

The film, which teams Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio for a fourth time, stayed ahead of Bruce Willis' comedy Cop Out with $18.6m (£12.2m)

Rounding off the top three was the horror film The Crazies which pulled in $16.5m (£10.9m)in its opening weekend.

March 1 (Bloomberg) -- “Shutter Island,” the Martin Scorsese thriller about an insane asylum, was the top-grossing movie at U.S. and Canadian theaters for the second consecutive weekend with ticket sales of $22.2 million.
