The shocked family of Alexander McQueen have held his mother's funeral just a day after the fashion designer killed himself.

Around 100 family members and friends joined McQueen's father Ronald and his brother and sisters at the burial of Joyce McQueen, 75, at Manor Park Cemetery, East London yesterday.

There had been discussions about possibly delaying the service following the tragic suicide of McQueen on Thursday, but the family decided to continue as planned.

Oscar-nominated actor James Woods on Tuesday settled a lawsuit against a hospital in Rhode Island where his younger brother Michael died in 2006.

Woods claimed Kent Hospital was negligent in the death of his 49-year-old brother, who had a heart attack and died in its emergency room after going there with a sore throat and vomiting.

The hospital's chief executive, Sandra Coletta, acknowledged at a news conference with Woods outside court that mistakes were made.

The trailer for the upcoming Michael Jackson concert rehearsal film This Is It will debut during the MTV Video Music Awards, airing live this Sunday, September 13th from New York's Radio City Music Hall. Dealing with her older brother's death hasn't been easy for Janet Jackson, but she's finally ready to talk about it.

In the 43-year-old singer's first interview since Michael's June 25th passing, Janet opens up in the October issue of Harper's Bazaar about her pain, the grieving process and how the ordeal made her a stronger woman.
