CAMPBELLTON, Texas (AP) -- A broken drive shaft likely caused a Mexico-bound bus to veer wildly on a Texas highway before flipping over, killing two passengers and injuring 40 others on board, investigators said Wednesday.

The drive shaft, which transfers power from the engine to the wheels, apparently fell off before the Americanos USA bus carrying 42 people careened from the right lane toward the median and spun wildly, Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Tela Mange said. She said the findings were preliminary, and that the investigation was ongoing.

(CNN) -- Several people were killed when a passenger bus crashed on an Arizona interstate early Friday, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said.

The wreck occurred south of Phoenix at milepost 173 on I-10 and blocked both westbound lanes of traffic, according to the department, which had no estimate for when the lanes would reopen.

The department did not say how many people were killed, only that there had been "multiple" fatalities.

BEIJING -- China's government says a bus crash in central Henan province has killed 19 people and injured seven others.

A pickup truck crashed into one of Trace Adkins' tour buses this morning, killing two people in the pickup truck ... this according to Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office in Louisiana.

Adkins was not on board the bus at the time.

None of Adkins' band members were thought to have suffered serious injuries, but Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator told KTBS he believed both men in the pickup were killed on impact. The pickup truck crossed the center line and crashed into the tour bus, Prator told the station.
