Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao warned other countries not to pressure China over its exchange-rate policy during his news conference at the end of the country's annual legislative session, and reiterated China intends to continue reforming its currency system.

Wen restated China's position that the U.S. decisions to meet with the Dalai Lama and sell arms to Taiwan breach China's sovereignty, adding the responsibility for fixing the issues lies with the U.S.

During China's annual legislative session, People's Bank of China Gov. Zhou Xiaochuan said China will eventually move away from its current exchange-rate policies, which he described as a temporary response to the global financial crisis. But he downplayed the idea a move could come in the near future. His comments were the most explicit suggestion to date by a Chinese official that the yuan's current de facto peg to the dollar may not be maintained indefinitely.

- Citigroup Inc. CEO Vikram Pandit appeared in Washington on Thursday to tell bailout overseers that today's Citi is not the tangled behemoth that required more than $45 billion from the government to survive the financial crisis.

Citi's bailouts have attracted attention because it is the world's largest financial services conglomerate, and because the government seemed endlessly willing to rework the terms of Citi's debt in ways that helped the company - but not always taxpayers.

PROFIT: For the quarter that ended Jan. 3, Wendy's/Arby's Group lost $13.6 million, or 3 cents per share. That compares with a loss of $393.2 million, or 84 cents per share, during the previous year.

Excluding those one-time costs, the company earned 7 cents per share. Its quarterly adjusted profit was 5 cents per share in 2008.

REVENUE: Revenue climbed 0.5 percent to $900.9 million, up from $896.5 million last year.

Several senators on the Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, which is holding a hearing Tuesday to investigate Toyota's safety issues and recall, have connections to the Japanese automaker.

Wynn Resorts, a Las Vegas-based casino operator run by billionaire Steve Wynn, has had a tougher time getting luxury customers to pay top dollar for trips and entertainment at its high-end resorts in Las Vegas.

But strong results in Macau, the Chinese gambling enclave, helped offset losses in Sin City, and the company's profit and revenue beat analyst expectations.

Cablevision Systems Corp. recorded a profit for the fourth quarter, reversing a year-ago loss. Here is a breakdown of the quarter's report:

EARNINGS: $78.4 million, or 26 cents per share, in the quarter ended Dec. 31. That compares with a loss of $323.2 million, or $1.11 per share, in the fourth quarter of 2008.

REVENUE: Rose 5 percent to $2.14 billion.

SUBCRIBERS: Cablevision lost 45,100 video customers to end 2009 at 3.1 million. But more of the remaining customers signed up for the pricier digital cable TV, which added 55,900 net new subscribers. The company also added 112,500 Internet customers and 174,400 phone subscribers.

FEBRUARY BLUES: The Conference Board's Consumer Confidence Index dropped almost 11 points to 46.0, from a revised 56.5 in January. Analysts had expected a reading of 55.

BREAKING IT DOWN: The index's Present Situation Index, which measures shoppers' current assessment of the economy, declined to 19.4 from 25.2. That reading was the lowest level in 27 years. The Expectations Index, which measures consumers' outlook over the next six months and which had been climbing since October 2009, dropped to 63.8 from 77.3.
