After just seven years of getting people 'moving to the music,' Apple's iTunes celebrated a milestone Thursday with their 10 billionth download.

In the lead up to the occasion, Apple announced they would give $10,000 in free music to the lucky downloader -- but the song wasn't Lady Gaga or the Black-eyed Peas. It was classic country - Johnny Cash's 1958 hit, "Guess Things Happen That Way."

The winner was Louie Sulcer, a 71-year-old from Woodstock, Ga. The retired grandfather of nine was given an iPod Nano as a birthday gift last October.

The new, faster, higher-capacity third-generation iPod touch was long-rumored to receive a camera, and mounting, convincing evidence in recent months led many to believe it was an inevitability. Apple surprised this week when it announced a 64GB iPod touch without a camera, adding credibility to reports to AppleInsider that hardware issues prevented the new feature from becoming a reality.

In a new interview, Apple co-founder Steve Jobs discusses a number of issues, including the new lineup of iPods, the Amazon Kindle, and his own health and weight.

Jobs spoke with David Pogue of The New York Times, and explained that the iPod touch, unlike the iPod nano, was not given a camera because the company wanted to focus on portraying the device as a gaming machine. Jobs said that the company's main goal was to lower the price of the iPod touch as much as possible, and he believes it achieved that with a 8GB model for $199.

Sure, much of the event revolved around the iPod nano, but it was the expected addition of a camera to the rear of the device that caused the most commotion. Steve Jobs more or less glossed over the addition of an FM radio tuner to the device--maybe because he's finally eating crow.

Apple, of course, is far from the first company to add the feature to a music player--in fact, it's become something of an industry standard on players, save for the iPod. Over the years, Jobs has skipped the feature, time and again.

The iPod nano will now feature a built-in camera, as Apple updated its iPod line as part of a music-focused press event in San Francisco on Wednesday.

The new iPod comes in 8GB and 16GB models, priced at $149 and $179, respectively. The music players now feature a video camera and microphone on the back of the device along with a built-in speaker. The nano can display video or sync it back to your computer for uploading to YouTube.

Though Apple is especially tight-lipped for its annual iPod event set for Wednesday, John Gruber has shared what little he has been told will be unveiled by the hardware maker in just hours.

Calling them "sure thing bets," the Daring Fireball blogger said that both the iPod nano and iPod touch will receive cameras. He believes the new iPod touch will have the same RAM and processor speed as the iPhone 3GS, and the new media player will sell in capacities of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB at prices of $199, $299 and $399, respectively. He also said that the hard drive-based iPod classic will remain, likely with a 160GB capacity for $249.

Apple Inc. has officially set Sept. 9 as the date for its next music-themed product launch event in San Francisco.

Apple keeps a tight lid on upcoming products and hasn't confirmed any rumored developments, including a plan to package extra digital content with albums sold on iTunes, and a new tablet-style device.
