CONCORD, N.H. - Apples are getting some competition from cows in the debate over what New Hampshire's state drink should be _ cider or milk.

The House will weigh in this week when it votes on a bill designating apple cider as the state drink.

A lawmaker introduced the bill after Jaffrey Grade School students contacted her. Later, Gilford Elementary School students lobbied for milk.

The House Environment and Agriculture Committee is split. Some members support cider while others propose killing the bill.

Having just gone through Oscar season with the semi-biopic "Invictus," which centered on Nelson Mandela, Clint Eastwood may be ready to tackle another big name in history: former FBI director J. Edgar Hoover. According to Variety, the actor-turned-filmmaker is still merely considering boarding the project, which was penned by Dustin Lance Black, the Oscar-winning screenwriter of "Milk." Ron Howard and Brian Grazer will oversee through their Imagine Entertainment label, which also produced Eastwood's period drama "Changeling."

MILWAUKEE — A 13-year-old Milwaukee girl accused of fatally stabbing her step-grandfather because he poured her milk down a drain is being held on $150,000 cash bond.

The girl appeared Tuesday in Milwaukee County Children's Court. She is accused of stabbing 48-year-old Robert A. Moon in the neck on Saturday after he allegedly poured out milk that she wanted for her cereal.

Public defender Joy Sherard says there's a family history that has required intervention from county officials, but declined to elaborate.

MILWAUKEE -- A long-simmering feud between a 13-year-old girl and her step-grandfather erupted after the man allegedly poured her milk down the drain, prompting the girl to fatally stab him in the neck, court documents said.

The girl, whom a witness told police had threatened Robert A. Moon with knives before, told an officer who responded, "I killed him," and said to a neighbor, "I'm not afraid to go to jail for this," according to the criminal complaint against her.

DUSTIN Lance Black, who won the screenwriting Oscar for "Milk," wants a Web site that posted X-rated photos of him and an ex-lover to pay. Black is suing Starzlife.com and a man he claims stole the photos from Black's ex-boyfriend for $3 million, claiming he's suffered invasion of privacy, copyright infringement and violation of the right of publicity, among other things.
