RENO, Nev. - DNA taken from the young son of a man accused of killing a college student and raping two other women can be used as evidence in his upcoming trial to try to link the suspect to the crimes, a judge ruled.

Washoe District Judge Robert Perry on Monday denied a motion by defense lawyers for James Biela to suppress the evidence.

Investigators said Biela declined to provide a voluntary DNA sample, so officers received permission from his girlfriend to test the couple's son.

PARIS - Interpol has issued an alert for 16 more suspects in connection with the January slaying of a Hamas commander in a Dubai hotel room, the international police organization said Monday.

The Lyon, France-based organization says it issued red notices, its highest-level alert, for a 16-strong team accused of shadowing Mahmoud al-Mabhouh before his killing. The total number of people sought by Interpol notices in the case is now 27.

JERUSALEM - A senior Hamas leader publicly disowned his son Monday, days after the young man announced he had secretly spied for Israel and helped authorities hunt down members of the Islamic militant group.

Hamas Web sites published a letter late Monday by Sheik Hassan Yousef that the militant group said was smuggled out of the Israeli prison where he is serving a six-year sentence.

In the letter, he said his family announced its "complete renunciation" of Mosab Yousef. The father said he was sorry to take such a step but said he had no choice after his son "disbelieved in God...and collaborated with our enemies," he said.

Marie Osmond's teenaged son, Michael Blosil, has killed himself by leaping to his death around 9 p.m. Friday in Los Angeles, reports Entertainment Tonight, which quotes Marie's brother, Donny Osmond, as saying, "Please pray for my sister and her family."

According to ET, Michael left a note explaining he intended to end his life after a lengthy battle with severe depression that left him, he said, feeling as if he had no friends and could never fit in.

The search is finally over for Abel Madariaga, whose pregnant wife was kidnapped by Argentine security forces 32 years ago.

After decades of doubt and loneliness, of searching faces in the street in hopes they might be related, Madariaga has found his son.

There is a debate over gay rights in this conservative southern African country, sparked by the trial of a gay couple charged with unnatural acts and gross indecency, felonies for which they could be imprisoned for up to 14 years.

Police spokesman Dave Chingwalu said the 60-year-old man arrested Monday has been charged with sodomy. Chingwalu said he received a complaint from a young man that he had been asked to undress by the 60-year-old, and was then sodomized.

Bolton Wanderers have made their second signing of the January transfer window with American midfielder Stuart Holden joining the club on a free transfer, subject to international clearance.

Holden, 24, recently left MLS side Houston Dynamo and has joined Bolton on a deal until the end of the season after impressing new manager Owen Coyle during a trial period.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Sarah Palin's oldest daughter, Bristol, is seeking child support from the young man who fathered her 1-year-old son.

A court document filed Thursday says Bristol Palin is seeking $1,750 a month from Levi Johnston. It says Bristol is providing nearly 100 percent of Tripp's care, and that Johnston has paid only $4,400 in more than a year.

Johnston lawyer Rex Butler says on several occasions his client wanted to give Bristol money for the baby's care, requesting that she bring Tripp with her, but she was a no-show.
