Anders Fogh Rasmussen (Danish pronunciation: [????n?s ?f???? ???smusn?] ( listen)), also known as Anders Fogh ([????n?s ?f???, ????n?s ?f????, ????n?s ?fo??]), since Danes often use their middle names instead of surnames; or sometimes "Fogh", born 26 January 1953, is a Danish politician and former Prime Minister of Denmark. Currently waiting to assume the post of Secretary General of NATO on 1 August 2009, Rasmussen served as Prime Minister of Denmark from November 27, 2001 to April 5, 2009. He is of no relation to neither his predecessor, Poul Nyrup Rasmussen, nor to his successor, Lars Løkke Rasmussen; their shared last name, one very common in Denmark, also explains why it is frequently not used outside formal contexts.
